Safety and Hazard Control Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Safety and Hazard Control Manager.
The Safety and Hazard Control Manager is responsible for maintaining the safest possible physical environment for patients, staff, visitors, and students, managing staff activities to reduce the risk of injuries, planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive medical center occupational safety, health, and fire protection engineering program, and intervening whenever conditions pose an immediate threat to life, health or property.
In addition, the incumbent ensures the maintenance of records required for safety and hazard control by all authorities having jurisdiction as well as ensures UWHC compliance with all federal, state and local laws, and standards of The Joint Commission (TJC). This requires in depth knowledge of the requirements of health care delivery, applicable laws and standards, accepted professional safety practices, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field required (Masters preferred.)
2. Three (3) years relevant experience required.
3. Experience within an academic medical center preferred.
4. Knowledge of safety, occupational health and fire protection principals, practices, procedures, codes, standards and regulations applicable to the performance of the full range of complex safety, occupational health and fire protection management responsibilities at the Medical Center.

Director, Plant Engineering

We are currently recruiting for a Director, Plant Engineering.
Responsibilities include managing and directing all activities of plant engineering including preventive maintenance, maintenance and operation of the plant, utilities distribution and analysis of energy consumption with recommendations for improvement, remodeling and refurbishing, transportation, clinical engineering including electrical safety and electronic repair.
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Architecture required. An advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or Architecture is preferred. Further requirements include seven (7) years management experience in the area of plant engineering including: major building construction and remodeling activities, project management, and equipment repair and maintenance in a large health care related institutional setting.
