Becoming a member of WHEA can only be accomplished by joining one of our six (6) regional chapters. Although each chapter has its own bylaws, officers, and meetings all chapters are governed by the state bylaws. Members of each chapter automatically become a member of the state organization. Membership cannot be applied for on-line because we encourage active particpation in our organization for both Full and Associate members. This ensures that the character of each chapter remains dynamic and continuously nurtures the professional development of each of its members.
Chapter Membership: The map on this page displays the geographic boundaries of the six WHEA chapters. Residents of border states are also welcome to become members of WHEA, and we encourage those candidates to seek membership in the chapter most adjacent to where they live or work.
Full Memberships -- Those with administrative or supervisory responsibilities for maintenance, plant operations or other allied disciplines within the healthcare facilities engineering profession enjoy full priveleges and access to all of the benefits and programs offered through WHEA membership.
Associate Memberships -- Architects, contractors, vendors, consultants, regulatory agency employees and healthcare facilities staff who are not in a supervisory role can also receive all the benefits and opportunities afforded Full members except for voting rights and the privilege of holding elected office at the state level.
Dues -- Chapter membership dues for either Full or Associate members vary from chapter to chapter but never exceed $50 per calendar year.
Here's How to Join WHEA! -- If you wish to pursue a personal professional membership in WHEA or need more information about our programs and meeting schedules, please contact the Member Services representative for the chapter you're planning to join (click on map, above, for your area of the state.) Downloadable or printable application blanks can be accessed from within the chapter specific areas on the map. Or, contact the Member Services Committee Chair, Roger Elliott at 715.726.3331 or relliot@sjcf.hshs.org.
Please Note: MEMBERships in WHEA are personal professional memberships. They are not transferable and are not assignable to other employees, colleagues or associates of a MEMBER's facility or organization. Any monetary discounts or other benefits afforded to WHEA MEMBERS are available only to the individual MEMBER and cannot be extended to other employees, colleagues, or associates of a MEMBER's facility or organization.
