jeff

Jeff Eckstein, AIA, ASHE, J.H. Findorff & Son, Inc., Director of Business Development Healthcare

Jeff is a registered architect, has worked in facility planning for 2 major healthcare systems and has over 30 year’s experience in healthcare planning, design, and construction. He is also Co-Chair of the WHEA Code Committee and is the recipient of the WHEA Robert H Botts Healthcare Engineering Pioneer Award and WHEA Founders Award for Outstanding Service.

David R. Soens, PE, RA, Life Safety Fire Authority, Division of Quality Assurance

Dave is the Departments Fire Authority to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for Life Safety. He is the physical environment technical consultant for acute care, long-term care, and assisted living programs. Dave assists various committees to improve code alignment through ASHE, NFPA, and WHEA. Lastly, his 23 years of experience assist waiver and variance requests for unique building configurations.

Marilyn Michels, MSN, RN, CRRN, CIC, FAPIC

Marilyn has worked in infection control for over 40 years in various settings. She has presented on numerous topics related to infection prevention and developed an orientation program for infection preventionists that was introduced to numerous health care facilities across the state. She has responded to numerous events related to construction and renovation through the years. She has witnessed the impact the health care environment has on a patient’s risk for developing an infection due to poor planning, design, execution and maintenance.

Rick Helfrich, CHFM, CHC, CLSS-HC, Plant and Facilities Project Manager for SSM Health Fond du Lac Region.

Rick is Co-Chair of the WHEA Code Committee, serves as the WHEA ASHE Advocacy Liaison, a past WHEA President, and has over 20 years of experience in the facilities healthcare setting.

Bob Dubiel, CHFM, CHC, BS, Project Manager, Marshfield Clinic Health System & WHEA Chapter V and Code Committee Representative.

Bob has been in healthcare for 30 years serving in Facilities at Stanley Hospital, Mayo Clinic Health system Eau Claire and currently at Marshfield Clinic Health system. Bob started healthcare as a maintenance technician and for the majority of his career he served in management roles in Facilities and Projects.

If you have attended a WHEA Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) program, you understand the importance of the information provided and the positive impact it has on healthcare facilities. By renewing your HCC, you demonstrate your continued dedication to understanding the needs of staff, patients and visitors when doing construction within healthcare facilities. Information and instructions for renewing your certificate can be found on the HCC Renewal Application.

You can renew your certificate by either attending a scheduled Healthcare Construction Certificate program again or by acquiring the requisite education contact hours and filling out the renewal form and following the instructions.

A great way to obtain the needed contact hours is by attending the offered educational programs listed under the Education tab or attending the educational programs at the WHEA annual conference.
