Summary of Updates

The Department has restructured the section titled, “Temporary Halting of New Admissions to an LTCF – COVID-19 Outbreaks” to ensure clarity of the guidance. The following changes have been made:

  • Clarified new admission guidance when a non-direct resident care staff member is positive
  • Emphasized there may be circumstances where admissions need to happen to a unit with COVID-19 positive staff or residents before the recommended time has passed

For consultation on particular facility situations, local health departments and the Bureau of Communicable Diseases are available to assist. If you have any questions or concerns about this memo, please contact the Bureau of Communicable Diseases at 608-267-9003.
